Summary: Jack and Ianto make some incredible discoveries in the wake of total destruction. A double drabble.

'Amazing,' Ianto uttered, stepping into the darkened room with his torch. It bounced off the walls and reflected back the endless rows of jars. 'I didn't think the bomb blast would travel down this far, but I still expected some damage from the shockwave at least,' he said, turning back to Jack whose own torch was giving some of the jars a closer inspection. The things inside them were glowing from the strange liquids that preserved their contents.

'Ten floors of absolute destruction, yet everything further down seems to have survived untouched,' Jack replied. He ran his hand across the row of glass. 'Not so much as a crack or a leak in any of them.'

'Of all the things that could survive…' Ianto let the sentence hang. So much destroyed, but at least their archives and everything deep below had made it. 'These things always freaked me out a little, but I'm glad they weren't damaged.'

Jack nodded in agreement. Someone long ago had collected them though he couldn't say who or why. They were just one more of Torchwood's mysteries.

'With all the rebuilding we've got to do, they'll just have to live down here a little longer.'
