Summary: Tosh is afraid to let her guard down after so much disappointment. A double drabble.

Ianto studied his best friend over the table as she sipped her wine but seemed otherwise distracted. 'What's wrong?'

'Nothing. Everything's fine,' she replied, plastering on a smile for effect.

'Okay, then. What's bugging you?'

This time she didn't dissemble, knowing that Ianto would persist until he got to the bottom of it. 'Owen asked me out for dinner the other day.'

Ianto nearly spat out his mouthful of pinot. 'As in a dinner date?'

'Or maybe just dinner without the date,' she quickly replied. 'Anyhow, I said no and maybe some other time.'

Ianto was gobsmacked. 'Why would you say no?'

Tosh gave him a vexed sigh. 'Because Owen has been mucking me around for years. You know I used to have a massive crush on him back in Cardiff, but… maybe it's time I moved on.'

Ianto shook his head at her, baffled by the pair of them and their complete uselessness. 'Or maybe after all this time Owen has finally grown up. Maybe just this once it's okay for you to let your guard down and see where it might lead you.'

She raised an eyebrow at him. 'You think so?'

'What have you got to lose?'
