Summary: Jack finds out why you should never work with animals or children.


There's a string of giggles hidden behind hands and Jack can't tell which of them started it, but now they're all struggling to hold back. In their position he'd probably be doing the same but it's hard when the shoe is on the other foot.

'Okay, you've had your laugh,' he says, trying to stay composed. It's tricky because his eyes are beginning to water at the corners and he really doesn't want to say too much in case his voice pitches up into an octave it doesn't naturally belong. He knows this because it's happened before and it would be as undignified now as it was back then. Funny how he couldn't care less if the team saw him completely naked, but being on the receiving end of something like this is just plain embarrassing.

He casts a look at Ianto and gives him some serious puppy eyes. 'Do something!'

In the end it's Gwen who comes to his rescue. 'I'll buy you an ice cream, but you have to stop biting Jack's finger,' at which point the five year old finally releases.

Rewarding bad behaviour hardly seems fair. 'What about me?'

Gwen grins. 'Ianto will kiss it better.'
