Summary: Jack has come back looking a bit worse for wear. A double drabble.

‘Jesus,’ Owen swore as something caught his eye. The others looked up from their own desk to see Jack having waltzed in through the open cogwheel door. It wasn't so much that he was covered in blood as it was the state of his face. Both eyes were black and his cheekbones and jaw various shades of purple, red and blue.

‘Oh my God, Jack,’ Gwen said. ‘What the hell happened to you?’

Jack jogged up the short flight of steps, trying to force a smile onto his face, even though it no doubt hurt to move even a single muscle in his face. ‘Oh, you know… just making friends.’

‘With your fists?’ Owen asked.

Ianto was already approaching Jack with an ice pack even as Jack swatted away his fussing. He wouldn't be able to stave off Ianto for long, judging by the look on his face.

Jack shrugged like this was just an ordinary day. ‘I stopped off for a couple of drinks with some old contacts.’

‘Perhaps alcohol wasn't a wise choice,’ Ianto chastised, thus time succeeding to apply ice to Jack's face and hold it there.

‘Wasn't us that was the problem,’ Jack replied. ‘Pub brawl.’
