Summary: Jack and Ianto have really pushed things to their limit.

Ianto hit the floor, emitting a sound from his throat that was distinctly unmanly. It wasn't quite enough to completely wind him, but it knocked the air out of him as well as the sort of high-pitched sound he'd never imagined himself capable of.

'Ow,' he said, somewhat understating the pain that came from landing awkwardly on his back and his hip bone simultaneously. There would definitely be a bruise there tomorrow, he decided, which was a joy to look forward to, compounded by the fact that tomorrow he also had his monthly medical check up with Owen. He'd receive some head shaking, tisking, and a smattering of "I really don't think I want to know how you got that".

'Sorry,' came a voice above him, and it was only now he realised that the heavy weight on top of him that was preventing him from properly getting his breath back was Jack collapsed on top of him.

'Could you maybe get off me?' Ianto suggested. 'Just so I can assess what's broken versus just slightly squashed.'

Jack crawled off the top of him, helping him to sit up. They must have looked a pair, sitting there in a crumpled heap on the floor with no clothes on. Jack's bunker and dignity were mutually exclusive concepts, it turned out.

'What happened?' Jack asked, still seemingly dazed and confused as to how they'd ended up on the floor, even if he was the one who'd had his fall broken.

'I think we just reached and exceeded the limits of what your bed can cope with,' Ianto replied, just able to make out in the dark the fact that the front metal leg of the cot was now bent and the whole thing tipped at a steep angle, having divested its occupants.

Jack looked back over his shoulder. 'Huh,' he said.

'Not surprising, really, given how, er… vigorous things were,' Ianto added, still slightly embarrassed about talking about what they did when everyone else went home.

'But this bed has been so good to me for so long,' Jack argued.

'How many other people have you had down here?' Ianto asked, but didn't really want to know, so he was pleased when Jack said it had only been him. 'I think it was happy to put up with us both when all we were doing was cuddling or sleeping. Trying out every page in the karma sutra handbook was no doubt pushing the friendship.'

'So, now what?'

'Now I guess you'll have to buy another bed. Maybe something big enough for two?' Ianto replied, though he had no idea how they'd ever get it down here with only a manhole for an entrance. Crashing here was convenient after a long day but it wasn't exactly comfortable. Or spacious, or warm, or private.

'Or… maybe we could just stay at yours?' Jack sounded reluctant to suggest it, but still hopeful. 'Only if you want.'

Ianto rolled his eyes. 'I thought you'd never ask.'
