Summary: Andy has been abandoned in favour of a lead. A double drabble.
Andy was accustomed to the impetuous nature of his colleague and co-worker Gwen, but there didn't seem to be any reason why she should just suddenly up and leave the hospital without him. Not with that knock to her head. Four stitches, so the nurse had said. A decent whack by any standard.
Pub brawls on a Thursday afternoon, Andy reflected. Only in Cardiff. Not even a rugby match on later as an excuse.
When he stepped outside he expected to find Gwen in the squad car. Instead, the car was nowhere to be found. He grabbed his radio and pressed the button. 'Gwen?' When he didn't get a response he called again. No luck. He gave the emergency bay another look. Definitely no car. He changed the channel on his radio. 'Yvonne, you there?'
'Busy right now, Andy,' she replied. 'Gwen's already busting my chops. I don't need you as well.'
'Ah… about that. You don't happen to know where she is, do you?'
There was a sigh. 'Got your hands full with that one. Try the Millennium Centre.'
Andy gave his own sigh, thinking how far that was on foot. 'Hope you like walking,' he muttered to himself.
