Summary: Jack tries to impress Ianto, but with limited success.

'You have to keep your eyes closed,' I insist.

'That hardly seems worth doing if you're going to put your hands over them,' Ianto tries to argue.

It was true that my hands were probably being more of a hindrance than a help, causing him to shuffle forward awkwardly as I cover them from behind, but let's just say I don't trust Ianto not to try and spoil a surprise. So, that's what I tell him.

'You have a warped sense of what constitutes a surprise,' he says.

'Just shush and go with it.' Honestly, the man is a control freak. Takes one to know one.

We reach the edge of the barrier and I make him wait a little longer, just enjoying having him hugged back against me as I keep my hands over his eyes. I wait until that little impatient tension leaves his body before making the big reveal.

And it's worth it. To see the great diamond falls of Tupeenrea is like ticking off the boxes for all the seven wonders in one go. The deep night sky and moonlight only makes them more spectacular as the diamonds glitter silver and white, almost blinding. Never seen them myself until today. Definitely not overstated hype. I let the sight sink in for a few minutes before speaking.

'Thousands of people travel here every single day to see the most spectacular diamond waterfall in the entire universe. You have to pay for a half hour slot and even then you're sharing it with a few hundred people.'

Ianto looks around and the penny drops. 'But there's no one else here but us.'

'I know,' I say, beaming with pride. 'I booked out every slot for the rest of the night. We have it all to ourselves.'

'But that must have cost an absolute fortune!'

I shrug. 'It's only money. It's been sitting around for a hundred and fifty years going to waste in my piggy bank.' That and it came from what I'd now describe as ill-gotten gains of the ex-Time Agency kind. It was about time it got used for something good.

'But Jack…'

'I try to show you something that will totally amaze you and blow your mind and all you can say is I can't believe you spent that kind of money?' Sheesh. What does it take to impress the guy?

Ianto must have read my mind. 'You don't have to try and amaze me. Amazing is just every day that we have together.' He grabs my face with both hands and kisses me.

Now that should be on the universe's list of most amazing things ever. Ianto's kisses are in a league all their own, with just the right amount of pressure and lots of tongue. I give in. It's impossible not to. 'But we came all this way,' I manage between ragged breaths.

'You said we've got all night. The waterfall will still be here later.'

He makes a good point.
