Summary: Jack has some wild ideas about making the most of Ianto's unused space.
Ianto padded from bathroom to bedroom, still drying his hair with the towel as he stepped unabashedly naked into his own bedroom, even knowing Jack was there. Jack had seen it all before and there didn't seem to be much point in protecting his modesty when he stopped to think about the sorts of things they did without clothes.
The ment was wasted in Jack who wasn't even facing the right direction to see him stride through the doorway, all flushed link and warm front three hot showers. He half expected Jack to join him, unable to keep his hands together himself for more than a few minutes when they were alone like this. Instead, he was standing by the window, staring out through the sheer curtains.
'Trainspotting?' Ianto teased. His old flat in Grangetown would have been a trains potter's dream, hunched over the metro tracks as it was.
'You have a balcony out here,' Jack replied.
Ianto rolled his eyes and shuffled towards the wardrobe to begin selecting clothes. 'Yes, Jack. I know.'
'How come you never said?'
'Didn't think I had to. It's always been there for you to see.'
'A little hard to see at midnight.'
Ianto smirked. 'A little hard to see when you're busy ripping my clothes off, you mean. Besides, you'd only want to go and stand out on it, staring out over the city for hours on end.' At least this flat had a view of something worth looking at. 'You do enough of that as it is.'
Jack turned away from the window for a moment. 'We could have been enjoying it, put a little set of table and chairs out there and eat breakfast. Add a few plants to spruce it up.'
Ianto continued dressing, tugging on his trousers. 'Do you remember what Cardiff weather is like?'
Jack pulled back through sheer curtain, heedless of the fact he was now giving Cardiff his naked profile. Anyone who happened to look up now was going to get a spectacular view of their own. 'It's beautiful out there this morning, Ianto. Just look at that blue sky and early morning sun rising.'
Ianto buttoned down his shirt. 'And yet still freezing. Any plants out there would curl up their toes in a day.' Not to mention he might curl up his own toes sitting out there drinking coffee that would stay hot for about three seconds. Having a balcony in Cardiff was about as much use as having a rainwater tank in the desert.
Jack dismissed his comments with a snort. Ianto just knew that cogs were turning in Jack's head, and that he was planning how to renovate Ianto's disused outdoor space. A mental image of it being crammed with fake plants and hanging baskets and cast iron furniture filled his mind. Maybe if Jack added an outdoor heater…
'If it comes down to tea and toast on the balcony or staying in bed another hour, I know which I'd prefer.'
