Summary: Owen is out of his depths with their latest addition to the hub. A double drabble.
'Seems all fine to me,' Owen said, wrapping his stethoscope around his neck. 'But then again, what do I know? I'm not a vet and they don't cover dinosaurs in medical school,' he added, taking a few steps backward from the sedated pterodactyl and keeping his other eye on this new stranger Jack had brought into the hub. Apparently he wasn't getting the usual innocent bystander retcon treatment. Jack picking up strays again. 'So, now what?'
'You tell me,' the young man replied. 'I presume she'll need a nest.'
Owen gave him a skeptical look. 'A nest?'
'Flies like a bird, lays eggs like a reptile⦠a nest would seem to make sense.'
Owen didn't like his tone. It was altogether too smug. 'And where are we gonna stick a nest? Not like there's a bunch of trees around here.'
'You've got space underneath the water tower. Up by the roof, I mean.'
Owen rolled his eyes. 'Boss gave you the grand tourist entrance show, did he?' Jack never could resist showing off.
'Merely something I observed on the way in.'
'Well, if dino here decides to take a dump from up on lofty heights, you get to clean it.'
