Summary: Jack's undercover assignment isn't going as smoothly as he'd hoped. A double drabble.
'Bet you're loving this,' Owen said, 'you and Ianto shacked up in your little love nest, trying to pretend you're actually investigating.'
Jack tried to hold his expression in place. He'd wanted to think the same thing, but after yesterday, he wasn't so sure anymore. Ianto was clearly not enjoying it and Jack wasn't sure if that was because he couldn't be at the hub where all the excitement was, or if he'd decided that living with Jack really wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Hadn't he just assumed Ianto would love playing happy couples and doing all the normal things that their real lives didn't offer them? How many times had he moaned about being woken up in the middle of the night for a rift alert, or missing a Saturday sleep in, or just wishing they could have a quiet meal cooked at home instead of their usual, high sugar, high carb fast food train wreck of a diet? For his part, Jack had rather enjoyed the cosiness of it all, but then he wasn't the one stuck in that house all day.
'It's just work,' Jack insisted, wishing it weren't. 'You're welcome to trade places.'
