Summary: Ianto wishes Jack would reconsider his plans to progress their investigation. A double drabble.
'You're not going there again, are you?' Ianto asked, pulling a face that bordered on disparaging whilst still trying to stay professional.
Jack heaved a sigh. There were times when he thought it was easier when he and Ianto just stuck to being boss and dutiful employee. He didn't like Ianto questioning his actions, least of all when he had a very valid point.
'Tell me there's a better way,' Jack replied, challenging him.
'Surely anything is better than trying to solve a case using a psychic? Especially one that doesn't look like she's even hit puberty?'
Jack cringed at the assessment. The girl with the tarot cards was, like him, much older than she looked, and what she could glean about the present and the future scared him more than he cared to admit. But what choice did he have? 'She helped us find the glove and save Owen,' he reminded his lover.
'And just about bring forth the end of the world in the process.'
They were dealing with something deadly this time too, but it wasn't Death himself. It'd be okay, he was sure of it.
Ianto sighed, conceding he couldn't stop Jack. 'Just please be careful.'
