Summary: Ianto is desperate for some reassuring words. A double drabble.
Gwen wasn't listening, Ianto realised as he tried to tell her his tale of woe. She was fixated on trying to get history for this Clem bloke and all of Ianto's unrelated words washed over her like water off a duck's back. He really needed her to tell him it was going to be fine and that it was just a car and didn't matter, but Ianto knew better. It wasn't just a car, it was the SUV. The Torchwood SUV. Jack's pride and joy.
'These kids nicked it,' he added, but those comments went unheeded as well. The worst part was that he probably knew them. Life on the estate didn't change much. The same families lived and died there, spawning new generations of grifters, vandals and car thieves.
He'd have given anything for Gwen to tell him that Jack wouldn't be furious, and that he'd understand, or daresay, love Ianto too much to care. Standing there naked and covered in whipped cream probably wouldn't be distraction enough against Jack's ire.
Finding the SUV wouldn't be an issue. It was getting it back that would prove problematic.
Jack was never going to let him have the keys ever again.
