Summary: Jack is having trouble keeping a smile on his face. A double drabble.
'Oh, Bob, you're a card! Such a massive, massive card!' Jack said, wondering if the smile on his face would hold long enough for him to get inside the house.
Card wasn't the word he was thinking; he just hoped that he hadn't verbalised it. His brain and his mouth didn't always operate in unison, and maintaining their cover was essential. His face was starting to ache from all the smiling. Even for him, this much charm and friendliness was going to kill him soon.
It was hard to believe normal people cared about stuff like perfect lawns and flowerbeds. Worse still was that Ianto was either growing apathetic with their undercover work or he was becoming one of them. The thought made Jack shudder.
He sighed with relief as he shut the door behind him. 'Honey, I'm home!' Ianto was there to greet him with a hug. God, but he needed it today. 'Honey, I think I'm gonna need a massage tonight.' For once Jack didn't mind putting on an act. Some parts of this job were actually kind of nice.
'Neck, shoulders or back?' Ianto asked, sounding willing.
'Jaw. All this smiling is agony.'
'Tell me about it.'
