Summary: Yvonne has put her assistant to work getting her up to speed. A double drabble.


There was a gentle knock on the door. 'Are you settling in alright, Ms Hartman?'

Yvonne smiled at her assistant. He looked malleable, and that was good. 'Very well.'

'You'll want to review the files on Alex Hopkins presumably?'

Yvonne tapped her pen on the leather blotter. 'Yes, please gather all the files for the personnel at both Torchwood Two and Torchwood Three.' Her assistant was about to turn on his heel and leave when she stopped him. 'Oh, and one file in particular I'd like at the top of that pile. A Captain Jack Harkness - Torchwood Three operative. Everything you can find on him, investigation reports, misconduct files, even his expense reimbursement slips.'

Her new assistant frowned. 'Why him in particular?'

'I was brought in to clean up the mess left by your predecessors. I find where one problem is left to rot, many more are festering, and I'm less concerned about dead men than I am about living ones. The devil is in the details,' she explained.

And sometimes the details uncovered the devil within their ranks. She had her suspicions, but she was determined to find out every last thing she could about Torchwood Three's new leader.
