Summary: Choosing a beverage can be a tricky business. A double drabble.
The spoon clanked so loudly against the sides of the mug that it was impossible not to notice it and the person who was controlling it. Tosh leaned back in her chair, watching from a distance the figure in the tiny kitchen. She didn't have to wait long for them to stroll past her desk, mug in hand.
'Did I just see you making tea?' she asked. She knew better than to assume Ianto would let anyone touch his coffee machine, even Jack. 'I didn't think you drank tea.'
Jack shrugged at her, taking a noisy slurp of the hot concoction. It was milky and clearly had sugar in it as well; not how she would have taken it, black and unadulterated. Her parents would have been appalled at her drinking it any other way.
'I like to change things up every once in a while,' he replied. 'You live as long as I have, you need to stay agile lest you fall into patterns. Don't wanna be boring and predictable.'
'Or maybe it's just that Ianto isn't here,' she said.
'That too,' he agreed. 'That man can smell instant coffee from ten miles away. I figure why risk it?'
