Summary: Jack has to face the awful realisation that one of his team is a plant. A double drabble.
Jack was annoyed at himself. He'd been doing this job long enough to know he should have developed a nose for anything out of place. Having an entire member of the team actually be a plant really pissed him off.
He should have known Adam wasn't one of them. Was it Gwen's amnesia, or Owen's timidity, Ianto's murderous rampage or Tosh's luck with love that should have tipped him off first? Or maybe it should have been Adam wanting to be there for him, trying to unravel Jack's last and all his many regrets. He'd never shared those secrets with anyone before. Why did he suddenly want to spill it all to Adam?
Being infiltrated like this made his skin crawl. Jack should be more alert than this. Torchwood had lots of enemies that wanted to take it, and him, down.
He didn't yet know what Adam wanted, but it could be anything good. The trouble was, what did he do now? Did he play along and try to figure it out that way, or confront the enemy within their ranks and force the answer out of him?
It felt wrong letting the team suffer longer than they had to.
