Summary: Not all aliens find Torchwood's advice helpful or appreciated. A double drabble.
'Have they acknowledged our signal yet, Tosh?' Jack asked, watching the monitor carefully as the large alien spacecraft approached ever closer to the planet. Jack didn't know who was on board, but he knew enough about the make and model of the craft to know its occupants weren't anyone he wanted landing here.
'I've sent it three times now,' she replied. 'And in every language our systems can translate it. If they've understood it, they don't seem to be heeding it.'
Damn, Jack thought. That was all they needed. It wasn't like the old days of Torchwood where they'd just blast an alien threat out of that sky no questions asked. Now there were lots of questions and a mountain of paperwork to go with.
Just when it looked like Jack was going to be having a bad day, the ship banked sharply away from the planet and a data burst filled their screens.
'Hmph,' Jack snorted, unimpressed.
'What's it say?' Tosh asked, unable to translate it.
'Nothing polite. Quite a rude gesture in fact since we asked so nicely for them to move along.' Giving them the finger was putting it mildly. 'Some aliens just have no manners whatsoever.'
