Summary: Tosh is having difficulty simplifying her explanation to the team. A double drabble.
Gwen ran a hand over her face before speaking, wondering if everyone else in the took was sharing her feelings of utter confusion. 'I can see it all on your diagram here, Tosh,' she said, indicating the sheaf of papers from her briefing file, 'but I still don't get it.' She cast a look at Owen and then Ianto but neither of them were prepared to voice agreement even though their expressions looked equally as lost. Cowards.
Tosh, unwilling to be defeated, tried again, beginning by pointing at a diagrammatic representation of the alien device. 'The subetheric waves are reflected back from the surface, whilst a secondary set of mesotheric pulses continues forward at a rate of two trillion times the speed of light. Then, as each of the mesotheric pulses bounces back, the distance between each of the two wavelengths is measured and mapped into a four-dimensional image. It's actually quite elegant.'
The explanation really didn't help at all. If anything, Tosh had made it even more complicated than before.
Owen groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. 'Bottom line it for us, Tosh. In English.'
'It looks through walls and tells you what's on the other side.'
