Summary: Jack isn't quite sure who needs the time apart to process things more. A double drabble.
Jack felt bad about having to put Ianto on suspension. His anger about the situation had diminished pretty quickly, though he knew it would come back in fits and starts over the next few days, or even weeks. Whje somej annoyed him enough, all those traitorous thoughts would come creeping back, accentuated by whatever else was irking him. It was best for Ianto that he wasn't around for that. Jack's temper had a habit of turning on the people who deserve it least.
It was meant to be a time for Ianto to reflect on what had happened and to realise that it was his perceptions rather than his actions that had been misplaced. Mistakes made as a consequence of the best intentions were easier to forgive and forget.
Perhaps it was also a time for Jack to reflect on the fact that he assumed he knew his team, but was quickly discovering that many of them were harbouring the kinds of secrets someone like him should have spotted from three miles distant. It was a stark wake up call that he was running out of time to get his house in order before anyone else ended up getting hurt.
