Summary: The latest arrival through the rift is fascinated by its own reflection. A double drabble.


The team stared in disbelief as a tyrannosaurus rex loomed down on a sedan in the middle of a residential street, completely oblivious to them. It's sole focus was on the tiny wing mirror, causing its breath to fog up the passenger side windows.

'Well, that's just great,' Owen muttered. 'Giant dinosaur turns up in Cardiff and instead of eating people, all it's interested in is checking itself out.'

'And you're complaining? Jack asked.' It's probably never even seen its reflection before. It might even think it's looking at a potential mate. Things could be so much worse.'

Ianto frowned. 'Your definition of worse could use some work. Try telling those terrified passengers in the car that it's perfectly okay for a carnivorous beast to be exploring refractive technology using their side mirror. Just when we thought you were the most vain creature in the city.'

'Hey, I'm not that bad. All we need now is a really big mirror and we should be able to lure it back to the hub.'

Owen and Ianto exchanged worried looks. 'If it's anything like Jack it'll lose interest after about five minutes and want to eat something.'

Ianto grimaced. 'Hopefully not us.'
