Summary: Jack needs to understand why Ianto kept his silence for so long. A double drabble.

Jack let his fingers brush down Ianto's bare arm in slow, purposeful strokes. It was sometimes hard to admit he enjoyed this new development. It was even harder to admit he hadn't seen it coming. 'Why did you wait all this time and not say anything?' Jack finally asked, desperate to understand the young man lying in bed with him.

Ianto shuffled slightly under his touch. 'I'm sure you don't need me to spell it out.'

Jack let his hand stop moving, resting it firmly against Ianto's hipbone. 'I do.'

Ianto gave a little shrug, embarrassed. 'Not exactly easy, is it? Confessing you fancy your boss. Sure, it starts out as maybe just thinking he's a bit nice looking and a bit funny and brave and then…' He blushed at his description of Jack. 'Once you start imagining that there's an alternative where you exist together it's a slippery slope to slide down. Knowing it can't actually be like that,' he added.

Jack frowned. 'Who said that?' Weren't they together now? Isn't that what this was?

"Obvious, isn't it?' Ianto replied. 'Just one night. Isn't that what you said?'

'I changed my mind. I don't mind sliding if you don't.'
