Summary: Lisa is annoyed she hasn't heard the news first hand. A double drabble.
'It's true, isn't it?' Lisa said without preamble as she slid into the canteen chair directly opposite him.
Ianto put down his tomato salad sandwich and looked back at her. 'Is what true?'
'That you and Rachel are a thing now,' she said, sounding miffed that she'd heard about it from someone other than him.
Bollocks, he thought. What was he supposed to say? He couldn't lie and deny it. Bloody hell, but usually he couldn't even get one girl interested in him and now he had two. He'd fancied Lisa for ages. He'd been trying to figure out how to ask her out on a date without getting himself all tied up and knots, but then Rachel had gone and been all forward and kissed him now they were sort of dating. God, but this was awkward. 'It's very early days,' he said, hoping that was the correct response. Not too committed to this new relationship.
'Ianto, I thought we were mates,' she said, sounding hurt. He hated himself even more now.
'We are mates,' he promised her. 'Great mates. I'd be lost without you. It probably won't go anywhere,' he tried to reassure her.
'If you say so.'
