Summary: Ianto was going to wait for one big life event to be over before lumping Jack with another. A double drabble.


Jack pulled the pocket square from his suit and used it to dab his eyes as he watched his youngest daughter standing at the altar, exchanging vows. She looked so beautiful and happy. He didn't really want her to see him in a mess.

'Don't use that,' Ianto quietly scolded him, handing him a real handkerchief. 'It's pure silk. Besides, I thought this was meant to be a happy occasion. If anyone was going to get all sentimental and teary, I thought it'd be me.'

Jack sniffed. 'I just can't believe how the last thirty years could speed by without us noticing. Our last child all grown up getting married. Seems like yesterday she was just a tiny little baby in my arms, all pink and soft and needing us to protect her. Now she's got a special someone of her own and won't need us.'

'She's our daughter. She'll always need us.'

Jack blew his nose. 'It really feels like the end of an era.'

Ianto cleared his throat. 'So, perhaps now isn't a good time to tell you I think I might be pregnant again.'

'What?' Jack hissed.

'Let's wait until after the reception to talk about it.'
