Summary: The Christmas holidays are not so much a holiday anymore. A double drabble.
'I need a holiday from the holidays,' Jack declared, flopping down in an exhausted heap on the sofa.
'Tell me about it,' Ianto said, dropping down next to him and leaning back against the cushions. 'Problem is, where could we go that would be less exhausting? You can't just leave small children behind.'
Jack groaned in agreement. Now that their children were old enough to enjoy the festive season, Jack had thought packing their calendar full of outings and activities would be fun. Only fun as they were, it was also thoroughly taxing.
'We haven't even gone Christmas shopping yet,' Ianto reminded him.
There was another tiring thing. Shopping for a mountain of toys seemed crazy when they already had so many, but Santa had to keep up his end of the bargain, and they did like to spoil their children.
'I'd say use the time lock once they've gone to bed, but I'm guessing that's considered bad parenting.'
Ianto shrugged. 'Oh, I don't know. Since we're the only ones that own a time lock, couldn't we make the rules about whether it's okay to freeze time for an hour and take three days off somewhere sunny?'
'Now you're talking.'
