Summary: Tosh has a problem that won't go away. A double drabble.
Jack had been about to turn the lights off at the hub when he heard the distinctive patter of footsteps through the open cogwheel door. He checked his watch before calling out to the familiar figure.
'Tosh, it's half past midnight. Didn't I send you home hours ago?'
'Sorry! I know,' she replied, dropping her bag on the floor and booting up her computer. 'But this whole alien translation program malfunction has been annoying me all night and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep until I figured out why it isn't working the way it's supposed to.'
Jack rolled his eyes at his team who, like him, seemed completely married to the job. He'd never known any workplace where it was harder to get people to leave and go home than it was to get them to turn up on time in the morning. 'Yknow, Tosh, usually when I'm stuck on a problem, a good night's sleep makes it easier to spot the solution.'
'Yes, but you never had to solve a base eight math decoder program. Sleep is what I won't get until it's solved.'
Jack shrugged. 'Who am I to argue with crazy logic like that?'
