Summary: Jack has Ianto's Christmas present ready and waiting for him.
It was getting late in the afternoon by the time Ianto pulled into the driveway, having spent the entire day with his sister helping her get things ready for tomorrow's big family Christmas lunch feast. Just because they were guests of the host didn't mean he didn't feel bad about the workload, and they were all family so it was more of a joint effort.
He pushed open the door, taking a moment to admire their Christmas tree with all its sparkling ornaments and twinkling lights. Surprisingly however, he expected that after being out all day, there'd be a pile more of presents under it than whe b he'd left. Jack was always so secretive about the whole presents business, insisting Ianto not be in the house whilst they were being wrapped. It was Jack's big opportunity to get them done while he was out, yet the only ones tucked under the tree were the ones that he'd wrapped himself over a week ago, both the ones for Jack and the rest that would be carted over to his sister's house tomorrow.
'I'm home!' he called out, making sure Jack heard him lest he get given the third degree for having come home too early whilst "Operation Wrapping" was still in progress.
'Up here!' Jack called back, confirming he was safe to enter their bedroom.
Ianto climbed the stairs and was confronted by a very strange sight. There was a lot of wrapping paper and sticky tape on the bed, along with his husband, who had somehow managed to wrap himself entirely from head to toe in festive paper. The legs and the torso were a reasonable effort, but Ianto could tell that by that tint he'd gotten to that arms and head, it was more of a random wrapping with endless streams of tape. 'What on earth?'
'Merry Christmas, Ianto,' came the muffled sounds from the holes Jack had left for his eyes and mouth. 'I've got your Christmas present here. I can't wait for you to unwrap it,' he said, voice laced with shameless innuendo as he lay there on the bed.
'You're totally naked under there, aren't you?' Not to mention he must be a tad cold, even with the central heating on.
'Why don't you tear me open and find out?'
Ianto rolled his eyes. When exactly was Jack going to find time to wrap all the proper gifts if they spent all Christmas Eve playing naughty Santa? 'Actually,' he said, 'I thought I'd be good this year and wait until Christmas morning to open all my gifts. Don't want to spoil the big day. Just pop yourself under the tree until then,' he added, turning on his heel.
'Ianto, wait!' Jack said, flailing in his tightly wound foil wrapping, making plenty of scrunching noises. 'You're not just going to leave me here.' There was a distinctive thud as he clearly slid off the bed, tripped and landed on the floor in a tangled heap. 'Ianto!'
