Summary: Jack and Ianto get used to seeing a new face around the archives. A double drabble.


Jack shook his head as he watched his newest employee going about their business. 'You know, Ianto, I used to think you were totally unique.'

Ianto stood a little taller as he too watched Penny settling into her new environment. It was an appointment he was personally very proud of. Penny was absolutely in her element here, keeping things in order and learning all the time what wonders the Torchwood Archive had locked away in its well dusted aisles. And it meant he no longer had to wear two hats, trying to run Torchwood simultaneously with maintaining its largest and most complex collection. That was just way too much work. 'I am unique,' he replied.

Jack rolled his eyes and nudged him. 'You know what I mean. That there's nobody who would do the job the way you did it, and enjoy it. I thought your love and dedication for our archives was a one-off. Who knew there were more people like you?'

Ianto grinned smugly. 'Well, you just didn't know where to look for them.'

'Neither did you,' Jack reminded him. 'People find Torchwood, not the other way around.'

'If you say so, but I'm still taking the credit.'
