Summary: Jack wants to celebrate, there's just one small snag. A double drabble.
Ianto had come to expect surprises from Jack on his birthday. There was just no convincing him that after all these years, there was really no need to celebrate the occasion. That Jack could still find new and inventive ways of trying to mark the occasion was testament, in all likelihood, to having far too much spare time on his hands. Clearly it was time to find them more gainful employment again. Idle hands were the Devil's playthings, and Jack was enough of a devil all on his own.
'Happy birthday, Ianto!' Jack cried, making a three tiered chocolate cake appear from nowhere. After two months in hyperspace, they'd either made a pit stop whilst Ianto had been unconscious, or their fabricator had been seriously tinkered with. He'd have to double check that later and see if it could now drum him up a lobster mornay.
He gave Jack an appreciative kiss. 'Thank you. You really didn't have to.'
'I know, but I like doing it anyway. Only… I'm not sure I remember how old you are this year.'
Ianto paused. 'D'you know what? For the life of me, I can't remember either. Three million and something.'
'Let's celebrate anyway.'
